Ricardo Banaag
Ricardo “Ricky” Banaag is currently the Chief Technology Officer for DFNN, a technology company listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange, a role he has held since September 2014. Concurrently, he sits on the Board of Directors for iWave Inc. He is likewise a Senior Executive Consultant at Intelimina Systems Inc.
Prior to DFNN, Mr. Banaag was President and Country Manager for Intel Microelectronics Philippines, Inc., a position he held for over 16 years. In that role, he was primarily responsible for all of Intel’s Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support operations in the Philippines. Previous to joining Intel, Mr. Banaag managed the entire PC Marketing and Support operations for IBM Philippines. Mr. Banaag was also Country Manager for IBM’s Global Network and established one of the first ISPs in the country. His IBM career span more than 14 years, with his other roles managing the Retail, Distribution, and Manufacturing industries. His introduction of the country’s first PC Based Point of Sale Terminals in 1988 revolutionized the Philippine retail industry. Among his many recognitions – 2009 IT Executive of the Year Award by the IT Journalists Association of the Philippines; one of the Philippines’ Most Influential CEOs for 2008; one of Metro Computer Times’ 2004 Top 20 Movers and Shakers of the Philippine IT Industry; and a Plaque of Recognition in 2000 by the Office of the President of the Philippines for his contribution and support to the ICT Industry.
