UPIE AchIEvers Program
By Boyet Castro
This Academic Year 2023-2024 is the Blockbuster Year for AchIEvers! This year, the IEAA is sponsoring eleven (11) grantees, the most number since the program was initiated in 2016.
Thanks to our generous donors, this year we are sponsoring 3 seniors (all three of which are expected to graduate with honors this coming June), 4 juniors, 3 sophomores, and one freshman.
Five (5) new [first-time] grantees have joined our six [carry-over] grantees from last year.
Our seniors are Jan Jubal Atuan from Orani, Bataan, Sabino Cangas from Pasay City, and Yennessey Marie Prado from Urbiztondo, Pangasinan. Our juniors are Angelo Dalusong from Delfin Albano, Isabela, Arjie David from San Pedro, Laguna, Airis Claire Luengas also from San Pedro, Laguna, and Prince Ericson Posadas from Quezon City.
Our sophomores include Bhlesie Domingo from Malolos, Bulacan, Shane Jhemines Allanta from Antipolo City, and Louis Jeihard Ramos from Orani, Bataan.
Our lone freshman Cherrie Borinaga is from Talibon, Bohol.
The Association has sufficient funds to support our 11 grantees’ stipends until the end of this academic year, but we do hope to be able to raise enough donations to be able to sponsor the same number of grantees next academic year, if not more. With the help of our valued alumni and donors, the AchIEvers Program will continue to support the most financially needy IE undergraduates in our midst.
Effective March 2024, program management of the AchIEvers Program has been assumed by Trustee Jimbo Reverente, taking over from outgoing trustee Boyet Castro who had been handling AchIEvers since 2018.
