UPIE AchIEvers Program

The AchIEvers Program was launched in 2016 to provide financial assistance to poor and needy Industrial Engineering undergraduates and to certain faculty members of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research in the form of Teaching Research grants.

President’s Message

I am deeply honored to assume the role of President of UPIEAA. First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my predecessor Jomari and the rest of the outgoing Trustees for their tireless dedication and leadership during the pandemic.

The gradual return to “normalcy” has resulted in busy and tight schedules for most people. As a result, the UPIEAA focused on three major areas this year to maximize impact to the advocacies it chooses to serve.

The 1UPIE Community

Following the May 2022 elections, for which its campaign originally brought a host of UPIE alumni together in October of the previous year, the core leadership aligned on the need to move on, set aside political differences and focus on the common ground of helping in nation building.

The Virtual 2020 UPIEAA Annual General Assembly

The UP Industrial Engineering Alumni Association traditionally holds its annual homecoming and general assembly in the last quarter of the year.

A Talk on Artificial Intelligence by Distinguished Alumni, Dodjie Simon

Elizar “Dodjie” Simon, author of the recent New York Times’ bestseller “A.I. Hacked” and UP IE Alumnus (Batch ’85) gave a talk on Artificial Intelligence last 19 October 2019 at the Maynilad Room to an audience of third-year IE students, IEOR faculty, and visiting alumni.
