UPIEAA Director Bess Yap Gets Promoted!
UPIEAA director Bienadel Elizabeth “Bess” Yap was formally sworn in last May 13 as the newest Assistant Secretary for the Department of Public Works & Highways, by DPWH Secretary Rogelio “Babes” Singson. With the promotion, Bess is now directly responsible for six DPWH offices: Information Management, Human Resource and Administrative, Financial and Management, Procurement, Legal Service and Stakeholder Relations.
IE 155 Student Teams Assist DPWH with Business Process Reengineering
Recently, as part of their practicum project, four student teams under the IE 155 (Industrial Systems Design) course taught by IE-OR Professor Mitchay Pacia were assigned to work with the Department of Public Works and Highways’ Business Innovation Division (BID) to assist in BID’s mission of sustaining the business process reengineering and improvement efforts at DPWH.

Jeng Pascual named ING-FINEX CFO of the Year
The country’s institution of financial executives, the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX), together with ING, a global financial institution, have recognized the finance director of Shell Philippines Exploration BV, Jose Jerome “Jeng” Pascual III, as the “chief financial officer” of the year, an award given annually to the country’s best corporate finance head. Jeng Pascual, a UP IE alumni, batch 1986, is the finance director and country controller of Shell Philippines Exploration BV.
